Curse of the Bane

The Last Apprentice, Curse of the Bane, by Joseph Delaney is the second book about Thomas the apprentice to the Spook. In this book Tom must do the work that the Spook cannot, because he is sick and not strong enough to fight evil. In the very beginning of this book, Tom must trap a very nasty boggart known as a ripper. This is his first time trapping one. And the Spook cannot help him. It is all very exciting and grizzly and scarry at the same time. And that's just the beginning. This book is about an ancient evil that was trapped a very long time ago beneath a cathedral. This ancient evil is a boggart of immence power and influence. Tom can hear him in his head and works very hard to not fall under his spell. This is a great book. In fact, I read this one first. I liked it so much that I went back and read the other one. I hope that he writes more in this series because I like the Spook and Tom and all the trouble they get into.
