Clementine is a new book by Sara Pennypacker and Marla Frazee. Clementine is a slice of what life can be like when you are 8 years old and in to all kinds of trouble because you pay attention. Clementine pays perfect attention to all the things going on around her. She pays such great attention that she is constantly in trouble with the teacher and her principal. We get a great look at what a principal goes through when they are up against a bright, smart, clever kid like Clementine. This book joins the ranks of other quirky ones like, Junie B Jones by Barbara Park and Eloise by Kay Thompson. But, Clementine has her own take on the world and what it should be like. And I like her world. A lot. She's a little like Lucille Ball at a younger age. Imagine that if you can. I hope we see a lot more from this character. I can't wait to see what she gets into next.
